CARSON, Calif. --   The University of Delaware will have yet another senior take part in a collegiate football all-star game this weekend as Blue Hen offensive tackle Erle Ladson has been selected to play in the third annual National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) Collegiate All-Star Bowl Game.

Ladson will be among 110 collegiate seniors taking part in the game, which will be played this Saturday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. (ET) at the StubHub Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in the Greater Los Angeles area.

“Playing in the NFLPA Bowl is another opportunity to play the game of football,” said Ladson. “With this game however it's like a week-long interview where I can impress the over 150 scouts and team personnel here. I owe the University of Delaware for every opportunity it has given me. Allowing me to graduate and earn a quality education and the culmination of the last five seasons has prepared me mentally and physically to take the next step. No matter what happens I will always bleed blue and gold.”

Former NFL head coaches Dick Vermeil (National) and Denny Green (American) will serve as head coaches. Team practices and the game will be televised live on the ESPN2.

A 6-6, 335 lb. history education graduate from Bronx, N.Y. (Cardinal Hayes HS), Ladson was a four-year letterwinner for the Blue Hens and a three-year starter at offensive tackle. He played in 48 career games and started each of the final 23 games of his career.

He was a member of Delaware’s 2010 NCAA national runner-up squad and this past season helped Delaware’s offense score 30 or more points eight times and rank No. 2 in the CAA in scoring offense (31.2 points per game) and No. 3 in passing offense (240.0 yards per game).
