RICHMOND, Va. - University of Delaware senior E.J. Stoltzfus has received Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week Honors for the final week of the regular season.

The Blue Hen shortstop from Brigantine, N.J. (Holy Spirit HS) is the third Delaware player to be honored by the league this year but the first to non-pitcher to be honored. Chad Martin was named CAA Rookie of the Week twice and Pitcher of the Week once this spring while Brandon Hinkle was selected as the CAA Pitcher of the Week in April.

Stoltzfus batted .461 (6-13) with four runs scored and six RBI as Delaware (24-25, 10-10 CAA) took two of three from James Madison. The senior went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI in an 11-5 victory over the Dukes.

He then went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in game two of Thursday’s doubleheader against James Madison as Delaware won the game 13-9.

The senior is batting .313 this season and reached base in the final 11 games of the season. Stoltzfus is second on the team with 33 runs scored, tied for third on the team with 33 RBI, and fourth on the team with 10 doubles this season.

The Blue Hens will next be in action Wednesday as they take on Northeastern in the first round of the CAA Baseball Championship in Wilmington, N.C.  The first pitch is scheduled for 12 noon.

In addition to Stoltzfus, Eric Bauer of College of Charleston was named CAA Pitcher of the Week and Ford Bradshaw of James Madison was named Rookie of the Week.
