SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The University of Delaware field hockey lid lifter at Stanford will be broadcast via the Pac-12 Networks, as announced by the league this afternoon.

The 6 p.m. (ET) game between the Blue Hens and the Cardinal on Friday, August 29 will be the second of the season-opening double header on the Pac-12 Networks.  Earlier in the day, California will face Fairfield. 

The matchup will be the first between the two teams since the 2005 season.

Delaware is coming off of a Colonial Athletic Association title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2013 and are led by fourth-year head coach and NFHCA Regional and CAA Coach of the Year Rolf van de Kerkhof.

Stanford has won five straight NorPac West regular season titles.  The Cardinal, which has been included in the national rankings for all but one week over the past four years, spent each week of 2013 ranked 13th or higher, including matching a program-best No. 6 ranking in two consecutive weeks.
