Blue Hen Menís Basketball Rising Seniors Tom Allshouse, Kyle Anderson Named To NABC Honors Court
Allshouse, a native of Middletown, Del. (St. Mark’s HS), appeared in seven games during the Blue Hens’ 2013-14 campaign. A mechanical engineering major, Allshouse participated in the CAA Tournament Semifinal victory over Northeastern and the NCAA Tournament contest against Michigan State. He was named to the National Scholar Athlete Honor Society this spring.
Anderson, a native of Newark, Ill. (Newark HS), was one of two Blue Hens to start all 35 games in Delaware’s record-setting season. A health & physical education major, Anderson ranked fifth on the team and 21st in the CAA by averaging 11.0 points per game. He tied for the team lead and tied for second in the conference with 85 three-pointers made, and reached double figures in 18 games during the year.
Anderson scored a career-high 29 points during a win at Charleston Southern on Dec. 3, tying the UD single game record by hitting eight three-pointers. He will enter his senior season needing to make just 14 three-pointers to set the Blue Hen career record.
In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, an athlete must be a junior or senior academically, boast a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year, and have matriculated at least one year at his current institution.
