NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women’s basketball squad continues to schedule quality opponents as the Blue Hens released their non-conference slate Thursday for the upcoming season.

Out of 11 total dates, UD will face six postseason participants, including three conference champions, from last season.  Eight different conferences will be represented in Delaware’s non-league schedule, which features four home games.

For the second straight year, the Blue Hens will open the season on the road with a short trip to Lafayette on November 14 for the first matchup between the two teams since 1999.

The 2014-15 home lid lifter is scheduled for November 16 against MAAC Champion and NCAA Tournament participant Marist, who finished last season at No. 7 in the Mid-Major Poll.

The following weekend, Delaware travels to fellow WNIT contender East Carolina for a November 21 matchup.

The Blue Hens will play in three games during Thanksgiving Week with a home contest versus Atlantic 10 Champion Fordham on November 25 before heading north for a two-game tournament at Vermont with perennial NCAA Tournament competitor Hampton from November 28-29.

UD takes on Temple in Philadelphia on December 3 before taking nearly two weeks off for finals.  The Hens return home to the Bob Carpenter Center for a December 16 matchup against annual rival Princeton, also a WNIT participant.

Cincinnati will play host to Delaware and Northern Kentucky for a tournament on December 19-20 before the Hens return from holiday break for a home contest against Rider to conclude non-conference action.

Delaware will play 18 Colonial Athletic Association games this coming season, with the full slate to be announced in fall.
