University of Delaware 2014 Football Single Game Tickets On Sale Friday; Season Tickets Still Available
Tickets to Delaware’s seven home games at Delaware Stadium are available for as little as $15 and can be purchased online at www.BlueHens.com, by phone at 302-831-2257, or in-person at the Delaware Ticket Office at the Bob Carpenter Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Group discounts for as low as $5 per ticket are also available.
Great season ticket packages for as low as $99 are still available including special discounted rates for alumni, families, faculty, and staff.
Delaware Football will once again host its annual Delaware Day as part of the Blue Hens’ home opener vs. in-state opponent Delaware State on Sept. 6 at Delaware Stadium at 6 p.m. UD will once again reach out to state employees, including educators and first responders to invite them through various offers to be a part of a day celebrating all things Delaware. Online registration is currently open for the annual Youth Cheer Day, also held during this game.
In addition to the opener, Delaware will also host the local favorite Band Day on Sept. 13 vs. Colgate along with a special tailgate for family and friends of the Class of 2018.
The following month, local youth football teams will be invited to participate in the Youth Football Experience during pregame of the Oct. 4 contest vs. Sacred Heart, while the University hosts Parents & Family Weekend vs. Elon over the Oct. 11 weekend and Homecoming for the anticipated matchup vs. Towson on Oct. 18.
Be sure to plan your gameday experience to join the Delaware football team in its pregame march down Stadium Drive approximately 2.5 hours prior to each home game led by the Delaware Band and Spirit Groups, greeting fans and tailgaters and building excitement for the game on their way to the locker room.
The Blue Hens, who went 7-5 last season during their first-year under head coach Dave Brock, return 13 starters including six each on offense and defense for the 2014 campaign. Senior quarterback Trent Hurley returns to lead the offense after throwing for 2,207 yards and 22 touchdowns while leading the CAA with a 155.2 passer rating as a junior.
Senior wide receiver Michael Johnson, a second team All-CAA pick a year ago, caught 60 passes for 1,035 yards and nine touchdowns, while preseason all-conference selection Nick Boyle made 42 catches for 474 yards and seven touchdowns as a tight end.
The Blue Hen defense will look to be much improved as Delaware welcomes back defensive end Laith Wallschleger and Jake Giusti, while senior linebacker Pat Callaway also returns after posting a team-high 120 tackles last season.
