NORFLOK, Va. -- Behind a 14-hit attack, the University of Delaware baseball squad completed a spirited comeback and defeated Saint Joseph’s 10-8 Saturday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex at the Old Dominion University Tournament.

“We certainly earned this one today," head coach Jim Sherman said. "Our guys didn’t roll over despite being down 5-0. I thought our bullpen did a good job today. Hornich threw well and gave us a chance to get back in it. Meeker coming in to get the last out was a good sign, because we’ve been working on him in that role. Overall offensively, I thought Glover broke out today, and swung the bat well. Trimble and Mohollen also had good days for us."

After being shutout for the first five innings of play, the Blue Hens (1-5) produced a two-run inning in the sixth and back-to-back three-run innings in the seventh and eighth before tacking on the game winning runs in the ninth inning.

Delaware seniors Jordan Glover and Doug Trimble produced a large portion of the offense for the Blue Hens as both had three RBI.

Glover had a bases-clearing three-run double in seventh while Trimble produced the first two runs of the ballgame for UD in the sixth. He later added an inside-the-park home run in the top half of the ninth inning.

On the mound, Delaware received solid performances from relievers Matt Hornich, Kyle Hinton and starting shortstop James Meeker, who recorded the final two outs of the ballgame as he stranded the tying runs on base to earn his first career save.

Delaware overcame a Saint Joseph's (0-5) attack that featured 11 hits, including four home runs.

The Blue Hens will close out play in the Old Dominion Tournament Sunday morning when they face the University of Kentucky. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m. LHP Kevin Milley (0-0, 1.29 ERA) will take the ball for Delaware while Kentucky will counter with RHP Justin Lewis (0-1, 22.50 ERA).

· Kevin Mohollen (3-5, RBI, BB) leads the Blue Hens in batting average (.417) and on-base percentage (.481). He has  reached base in every game this season.
· Nick Tierno has produced multiple-hits in three out of his five starts this season.
· Hornich struck out six batters in 3.1 innings of work out of the pen and now leads the Hens with 11 strikeouts.
