KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team moved up two spots to sixth place after carding a 294 score during Monday’s second round at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic.

The Blue Hens, who fired a 298 on Sunday, currently are sixth out of 43 squads with a two-round total of 594. Coastal Carolina leads the field with a 584 score, East Tennessee State is second at 591, and the College of Charleston and Charleston Southern are tied for third at 592.

Delaware freshman Ariane Klotz shot a four over par 76 on Monday on the par 72, 5,901-yard Oak Point course, ending the day tied for 22nd place with a four over par 72-76-148. Senior Grace Chua, who carded a 79 during her second round of the tournament, is tied for 49th place at 72-79-151, seven over par.

Three Blue Hens are tied for 58th place with eight over par scores of 152. Sophomore Ashley Dingman enjoyed Delaware’s best round of the day as she fired a career-low round of 70, including three consecutive birdies on seven, eight and nine. Dingman, who posted the lowest round by a Blue Hen this year, has a two-round total of 82-70-152. Senior Vitoria Teixeira and sophomore Valentina Mueller each fired five over par 75 rounds on Monday to end the day with identical 77-75-152 scores.

UD freshman Josefina Fernandez-Davila, playing as an individual, sits in a tie for 76th place with a 10 over par score of 75-79-154.

The third and final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday, with the top 22 teams playing for the championship on the Osprey Point course and the 23-43 teams playing for a flight championship on the Oak Point course.
