RICHMOND, Va. – Following a 2-0 week, Delaware goalie Taylor Carpentier (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) was named the CAA Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday.

Carpentier posted a 3.40 goals against average with 10 saves for a 62.5 save percentage as the Hens (5-3) defeated Bryant (9-4) and George Washington (13-2). Delaware’s six goals allowed in a two-game span is the best since 1997 when Delaware allowed five.

The junior began the week with seven saves to go along with two ground balls and a caused turnover against Bryant. She then split time in goal against GWU, stopping three shots with a ground ball and a caused turnover.

Carpentier holds a 5-3 record this season with an 8.04 GAA and a 41.0 save percentage.

Natalie Sulmonte (No. 15/20 Towson) was named the CAA Player of the Week while Alyssa Parrella (Hofstra) collected Rookie of the Week accolades.

Delaware does not return to the field until March 29 as the Blue Hens host Colorado at 6 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
