UD To Host Notre Dame; Deposits For 2017-18 New Season Tickets Now Being Accepted
NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men’s basketball team will play one of the most highly anticipated games in school history on Saturday, December 9 when the Blue Hens host Atlantic Coast Conference power Notre Dame at the Bob Carpenter Center, and fans can secure their seats for that contest by putting down a new deposit for 2017-18 season tickets.
At this time, this is the only way for Blue Hen fans to guarantee their seats for the Notre Dame game.
Delaware will welcome back Fighting Irish head coach Mike Brey, who guided the Blue Hens for five seasons from 1995-2000 and led UD to a pair of America East Conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 1998 and 1999. The Blue Hens will be hosting their second ACC opponent in the 26-year history of the BCC, and the first since Virginia visited Newark in 1997.
“We are extremely excited to have Coach Brey and the University of Notre Dame men’s basketball team come to Newark next season,” said Blue Hen head coach Martin Ingelsby, who played his final season under Brey for the Irish in 2000-01 and spent 13 seasons on the Notre Dame sideline before arriving at UD last May. “The game will be a homecoming of sorts for Coach Brey, who had tremendous success as a head coach here at Delaware and really elevated the program to the next level. It’s also a reunion for me as I get to welcome back my mentor and friend, someone who really taught me how to be a head coach and guided me to where I am today. This is a great opportunity for our basketball program and I am thrilled for our team, alumni and fans to have this series with Notre Dame.”
NEW season ticket buyers can place a $17.18 deposit per seat for their 2017-18 season tickets by clicking here or by calling 302-831-4493. This non-refundable deposit will be applied during their final purchase upon the selection of seats in the fall. Placing a deposit will also allow fans to select their seats before season tickets go on sale to the public.
Current season ticket members DO NOT need to place a deposit at this time. Renewal information will be sent out later in the year. As in previous years, existing season ticket members will have the opportunity to renew, add on, and/or relocate seats for the 2017-18 season BEFORE new season ticket deposits are seated.
Delaware basketball season tickets, group tickets, single game tickets and flex plans will go on sale this fall.
