Delaware Tied For Fourth Place, Dingman Seventh After First Day of CAA Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team fired a 306 round on Friday to end the first day of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship in a tie for fourth place out of eight squads.
Charleston leads the tournament with a 297 score, while Towson is just one shot behind. UNCW sits in third place at 304, while the Blue Hens and Elon are tied for fourth place.
UD sophomore Ashley Dingman carded a two over par 74 on the par 72, 6,113-yard Blue Heron Course at Ford’s Colony Country Club, ending the day tied for seventh place in the individual standings. Dingman birdied the first, third and eighth holes to finish the front nine at two under, before shooting a four over back nine.
Vitoria Teixeira is tied for ninth place with a three over par 75, while Ariane Klotz fired a four over par 76 to end the round tied for 14th place. Valentina Mueller sits in 28th place with a nine over par 81, while Grace Chua carded a 12 over par 84 to end the day tied for 37th place.
Lyberty Anderson of UNCW leads the field with a two under par 70, while Laura Fuenfstueck of Charleston is one shot back.
The second round of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Blue Hens will tee off at 9:20 a.m.
