PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The University of Delaware baseball team returns to action Tuesday afternoon at Saint Joseph's, and with a victory, would help Blue Hens head coach Jim Sherman capture his 500th career game at Delaware.

Sherman, who earned his 700th overall career victory earlier this season, would be just the second head coach to win 500 games at Delaware. Legendary  head coach Bob Hannah, who coached Sherman, won 1,053 games over his illustrious 36-year UD career in 1965-2000.

The Hens and Hawks will meet for the third time this season in a third different state.

Week In Review:

On Friday, the Blue Hens committed seven errors and allowed nine unearned runs on the way to dropping the contest 16-5 . Saturday, the Blue Hens rebounded, defeating UNCW 5-2 as starter Ron Marinaccio pitched five shutout innings and reliever Burk FitzPatrick pitched four-innings to earn his team-leading fourth save. On Sunday, the Blue Hens fell 5-0 to the Seahawks as they managed just five hits and were shutout in league play for the first time all season.

The teams also met back on April 18in Newark. After falling behind early once again, the Blue Hens rebounded, scoring seven runs in the seventh inning for the 11-6 win. The big blow was a grand slam by third baseman Diaz Nardo.

SJU dropped a pair of games this past weekend against VCU and the Hawks. Offensively, Matt Maul is leading the Hawks in average (.343) and hits (47) while Dominic Cuoci has hit a team-high nine home runs and has driven in a team-leading 26 runs.
