PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The University of Delaware rowing team concluded the 2016-17 season Sunday afternoon as the Blue Hens competed at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships held on the Cooper River.

The meet concluded a successful weekend for the Blue Hens, who earned the team title at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday.

The Blue Hens collected 19 points on Sunday to finish in fourth place for the second straight year behind team champion Northeastern (36 points), Drexel (30) and Villanova (22). Eastern Michigan (11) and Buffalo (8) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, to round out the field. Northeastern captured the team title for the fourth straight year.

Highlights included the Blue Hens Third Varsity Eights boat finishing second (7:08:00), the Varsity Fours crew finished third (8:02.50), the Second Varsity Eights boat finished fourth (7:09.28), and the Varsity Eights crew finished fourth (6:50.78).

In addition to the championships, Delaware student-athletes Claire Brown and Alison Gibney each earned first team All-CAA honors and Hannah Scholes was selected to the CAA All-Academic Team.
