PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- University of Delaware men's lacrosse senior midfielder Trupert Ortlieb will extend  his college career one more game this weekend when he competes in the 76th annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North-South Division I/II Senior All-Star Game at Providence College.

Ortlieb, a finance major from Drexel Hill, Pa. (Episcopal Academy), was one of 60 seniors throughout the country selected to participate in the game, which will be played this Friday, May 26, at 5:30 p.m. at Providence's Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. The North-South Division III game will open the festivities at 3 p.m.

A three-year midfielder at Delaware after transfering from Providence, Ortlieb was a key member of the middie unit. He was the team's fifth leading goal-scorer and sixth leading point-scorer in 2017 has he started all 15 games and compiled 18 goals and 4 assists for 22 points. He led the team with five man-up goals and with a 40 percent shooting percentage, was sixth on the team with 45 shots, and also added eight groundballs.

He netted four hat tricks on the season, including a career-high six goals vs. Mt. St. Mary's and three each against VMI, Binghamton, and No. 1 ranked Rutgers. He finished his two-year career at Delaware with 28 games played, 22 goals, and 5 assists for 27 points.

An outstanding student and teammate, he was a College Sports Information Directors Academic All-American nominee in 2017, a two-time CAA Academic Honor Roll selection, and was selected as the team's UD Team Sportsmanship Award winner earlier this month.

He will play for the South squad and head coach Marty Ward of Florida Southern. Ortlieb will be one of Colonial Athletic Association student-athletes taking part in the game, joining South teammates Cole Shafer and Jimmy Granito of Drexel and North players Josh Byrne and Michael Diener from Hofstra and Dan Muller of UMass.

Delaware has now had a representative in the game five straight years and 9 times in the last 10 years. Goalkeeper Noah Fossner was the game Most Valuable Player in 2011.
