NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women's golfers Valentina Mueller and Ariane Klotz both posted impressive performances in European tournaments this month.

Mueller, a rising junior with the Blue Hens, tied for third place out of 17 golfers at the Omnium Swiss Championship on June 9-11. Mueller fired a 74-69-73-74-290 at the tournament, which was held at the Golf Club Patriziale Ascona in Ascona, Switzerland.

Klotz, who was named the CAA Rookie of the Year in April, finished in 48th place in stroke play earlier this week at the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship at Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club in South Wales. Klotz fired a six over par 70-78-148 to advance to match play, where she fell to Maireal Martin, 4 and 3, in the round of 32.
