📊  Live Stats

• NEW ERA: For only the second time in the program's nearly 30-year history, Delaware will have a new head coach. Tonight marks the debut of Mike Barroqueiro, who joins the Blue Hens after spending the last four seasons as the associate head coach at North Carolina State. The New Jersey native spent two seasons (2011-12) as the head coach of the Iona College women’s soccer program before his stint at North Carolina State.

• FRESHMAN FUN: Tonight’s contest also marks the collegiate debuts for eight Blue Hens. Attacking midfielder/forward Dominique Davis, forward Riley Dixon, midfielder Gabby Johnson, defensive midfielder Olivia Schuck, defender Maria Gentile, defender Helen Dyer and attacking midfielders/forwards Lizzie Weimer and Sabrina Kunimoto will all don Delaware uniforms for the first time.

• ON THE MEND: Redshirt sophomore Riley Curtin and redshirt senior Andrea Gunderson are both scheduled to return from serious injuries a season ago. Both Curtin and Gunderson missed the entire 2016 season after suffering the injuries in preseason training.

• PROJECTED EIGHTH: Delaware was projected to finish eighth this season in the Colonial Athletic Association in the CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. Six teams will qualify for the end of the season CAA Tournament where an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament will be awarded. Delaware last made the CAA Tournament back in 2015.

• LOGGING TIME: Senior goalkeeper Kailyn Rekos is currently fourth in all-time minutes played in Delaware history and needs just 327 more minutes to pass Breanna Stemler. Rekos is currently two starts away from taking over third place on the all-time starts list in program history.

• Delaware is 1-3 all-time against George Washington with the first matchup occurring during the 1996 season.

• Back in 2015, the Blue Hens defeated George Washington 3-1 at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.

• In the 2015 matchup, Rekos recorded six saves while Gunderson recorded an assist. Friday marks the third consecutive season that UD and George Washington have met in the regular season.
