  • TIED UP: Delaware comes off a 1-1 tie against regional rival UMBC Tuesday. The hens held a 1-0 lead into the second half after Chad Poarch sent one into the net at the 43rd minute, but a second-half equalizer from the home squad sent the game to overtime. The two teams played a pair of 10-minute overtime periods, but neither team was able to score the golden goal. Tuesday was the Hen’s third tie this season.
  • CAA HOPEFULS: Delaware is currently in sixth place in the CAA, with just two conference contests remaining. Six teams make the CAA Tournament which will begin on campus sites November 4, with three and four hosting a CAA Quarterfinal match. The Blue Hens close the season with a home contest against Elon next Saturday, October 28. Delaware can clinch a postseason berth with a victory over Charleston AND an Elon loss to Drexel.
  • MORE SUCCESS FOR MORTON: Goalkeeper Todd Morton made a season-high seven saves in Tuesday’s match against UMBC. Morton remains just one win away from tying Borja Barbero all-time victory record.


  • Delaware and Charleston are meeting for the sixth time in program history.
  • The Blue Hens are 4-1-0 against Charleston.
  • UD has won their past two regular-season matches against CofC, posting a 2-0 victory in 2015 away, and a 3-0 victory in 2016 at home.
  • The Hens also faced Charleston in last year’s CAA Semis played at Hofstra, posting a 2-1 win to send them into the CAA finals.
  • Senior Thibault Philippe broke the 1-1 tie in last year’s Semis, scoring off a free kick to give the Hens the win.
