RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware sophomore guard Ryan Daly was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Blue Hens to their season-opening win at Richmond.

Daly (Ardmore, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored a game-high 22 points on 9 of 14 shooting during the 76-63 triumph over the Spiders on Friday, while adding four rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes of action. Delaware produced a dominating first half that saw the Blue Hens jump out to a 33-point lead, as UD never trailed in the contest.

Daly, last year’s CAA Rookie of the Year and a Preseason Second Team All-CAA pick this year, earned his first career CAA Player of the Week award. He was named the league’s Rookie of the Week six times last season.

Daly and the Blue Hens return to action on Tuesday with an 8 p.m. ET game at Bradley.
