CHANDLER, Ariz. – The program’s first-ever winner a year ago, Delaware junior Greta Nauck (Krefeld, Germany/Gymnasium am Moltekeplatz) has repeated as the Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year.
Nauck led the Blue Hens to its fifth straight Colonial Athletic Association Tournament title and an overall record of 15-5 while garnering Delaware’s ninth trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The CAA Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons, Nauck finished the year with 56 points on 25 goals and six assists while ranking second nationally with 1.25 goals per game and third with 2.8 points per contest.
In three seasons in the Blue Hens uniform, Nauck is atop the Delaware record books with 159 career points and 69 career goals.
Other Regional Player of the Year accolades went to Connecticut senior forward Charlotte Veitner (Mideast), Boston University junior defender Ally Hammel (Northeast), Virginia senior midfielder Tara Vittese (South) and Louisville senior midfielder Nicole Woods (West).
The Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America squad will be released December 5 with the National Player of the Year announcement coming on December 14.
