NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women’s basketball team will compete internationally this summer as the Blue Hens will travel to Spain from August 11-20.
“I’m honored that this is something that we’re able to do for our student-athletes,” remarked head coach Natasha Adair. “We are grateful to our administration and supporters as this is not only an opportunity to experience culture, but to grow as a team. For a lot of our student-athletes, this will be their first experience of traveling abroad. Our trip will blend training and camaraderie, allowing our team to experience a new culture while developing our talents as basketball players and as people. I have seen first-hand the invaluable contribution a foreign tour can have to a team, both on and off the court, and I am thrilled we will get to experience this as Blue Hens.”
The Hens will travel to Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia and compete in three games against international opponents while also participating in community service efforts during their 10-day trip.
“All in all, this is going to be an amazing experience,” Adair exclaimed. “I’m elated for our program and extremely thankful for our supporters and administration in this endeavor.”

This trip is being made possible by the philanthropic support of alumni, family and friends. If you would like to contribute to this experience, please click here.
