HARRISONBURG, Va. – It was a back and forth affair, but James Madison pulled away at the end to top Delaware, 67-56, at the JMU Convocation Center Sunday afternoon.
Junior Nicole Enabosi (Gaithersburg, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) collected her sixth straight, and 21st overall, game with a double-double and neared a career-high with 26 points and 12 rebounds to go along with three steals and a blocked shot in 37 minutes of play for the Blue Hens (17-10, 10-6 CAA).
Senior Kiersten West (Coram, N.Y./Longwood) came off the bench to tally 10 points and four rebounds while sophomore Abby Gonzales (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) notched five points, four assists and four rebounds.
Kelly Koshuta led the Dukes (19-9, 15-2 CAA) with 16 points while Lexie Barrier and Kamiah Smalls recorded 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Head Coach Natasha Adair
“Obviously the outcome today wasn’t what we wanted. On the road, against one of the league’s best, you have minimal room for error and you have to take care of the controllable plays. It was a back and forth game, but then you saw some key possessions where it was either a defensive breakdown on our end or toughness plays made by James Madison. My hat goes off to [JMU head coach] Sean [O’Regan] and what he’s continued to do with this program. We put a lot on Nicole [Enabosi] and she doesn’t disappoint. Her supporting cast was a little down today, but it wasn’t for a lack of will or effort.”
