RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware guard Justina Mascaro (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) earned the final CAA Rookie of the Week accolades for the season Monday, as announced by the league.
Mascaro averaged 6.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game and shot 56.0 percent from the field as the Blue Hens (18-11, 11-7 CAA) to a split the week with a loss to Drexel, the CAA regular season co-champions, and a big win against Towson.
In Thursday’s loss to Drexel, the freshman tallied six boards, four points and an assist in 12 minutes.
She saw 20 minutes of action and helped UD reach the 80-point mark versus the Tigers with eight points on 3-for-4 shooting from the field.
Mascaro was previously named the CAA Rookie of the Week on January 15.
She has appeared in all 29 games for Delaware this season and posts 3.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest.
Kelsi Lidge (Drexel) and Shay Burnett (Elon) shared CAA Player of the Week accolades.
The fifth-seeded Hens open post-season play Thursday with a 2:30 p.m. CAA Quarterfinals matchup against fourth-seeded Northeastern. The winner between Delaware and Huskies will advance to Friday’s semifinals contest at 3 p.m. The two semifinal winners face off for the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The title contest will be streamed exclusively on Sports Live, as part of the league’s package with CBS Interactive, and will be televised regionally on NBC Sports Washington & Philadelphia and SNY.
