RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman Lotte de Koning (Vreeland, The Netherlands/RSG Broklede) earned her first-ever CAA Field Hockey Rookie of the Week Award Tuesday, as announced by the league office.
De Koning tallied three goals and an assist as No. 6 Delaware (5-1) defeated Penn and Liberty this past weekend.
The midfielder collected the team’s lone two goals in the 2-1 win against the Quakers before collecting a goal and assist in the 3-2 victory over the Flames.
De Koning has started all six games for the Hens this season and leads all Delaware freshmen and is third overall with 13 points on six goals and an assist. She ranks ninth nationally with 1.0 goals per game and 21st with 2.17 points per.
William & Mary’s Woodard Hooper garnered Player of the Week honors.
UD faces No. 2 Penn State this coming Sunday at 1 p.m. at The Nook in Manheim, Pa.
