NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware women’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 contest to Colonial Athletic Association foe Drexel Thursday night at Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium.

The Blue Hens (5-7-2, 2-3 CAA) had their opportunities in the first half, but ultimately could put a ball past Drexel (8-5-1, 3-1-1 CAA) goalie Christiana Ogunsami. The Hens best chance of the match came in the 34th minute when Hannah Specht sent a perfect shot toward the net. The ball appeared to be heading into the back of the net until Ogunsami flashed across the net to make a highlight reel save.

Just eight minutes later, Drexel scored their first goal of the evening as Vanessa Kara found a streaking Madison Dunn on a corner. Delaware and Drexel continued to battle, but an 83rd-minute goal by Imani Walker secured the victory for the visitors.

Delaware goalkeeper Kailyn Rekos registered two saves in the loss. The Blue Hens return to action Sunday afternoon at William & Mary for a 2 p.m. contest.
