RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware junior right-hander Kyle Hinton and freshman righty Chris Ludman earned Colonial Athletic Association Co-Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday.

Hinton (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) earned his first CAA Pitcher of the Week award after the Delaware ace threw a two-hit complete game shutout in the Blue Hens 6-0 Friday victory over William & Mary. Hinton struck out 13 batters in total including nine of the final 13 batters he faced. The performance helped Delaware clinch a postseason berth for the sixth time in seven years.

Coming off the strongest performance of his Delaware career, Ludman (Newark, Del./St. Mark’s) earned his first CAA Rookie of the Week selection after throwing six one-run innings in Sunday’s 6-4 victory over William & Mary. The ‘First State’ native struck out a career-high 11 batters and allowed just three hits. Ludman lowered his ERA to 3.58 on the season.

Delaware kicks-off the final homestand of the year tomorrow afternoon when La Salle visits Bob Hannah Stadium. First pitch from Newark is scheduled for 3 p.m. The Blue Hens conclude the regular season this weekend as Northeastern comes to town for three games beginning on Thursday afternoon.
