PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Delaware led off doubles action Friday at the Saint Joseph’s Invitational with six victories.
Senior Amanda Studnicki (Normal, Ill./Normal West) paired with junior Sarah Hall (West Orange, N.J./Mount Saint Dominic Academy) collected their third and fourth straight wins of the season to advance to the Flight 1 finals matchup. The pair opened the day by defeating Mary Washington, 8-4, and followed with a 8-3 victory over Villanova.
In Flight 2, junior Annie Jaskulski (Wilmington, Del./Friends) and freshman Sarah Whited (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) posted triumphs versus Mary Washington (8-3) and La Salle (8-2) before falling to Villanova, 8-4, in semifinals play.
Also in Flight 2, senior Arielle Shuren (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) and junior Draga Sabotic (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) trounced La Salle, 8-1, and Mary Washington, 8-2, while dropping the 8-3 semifinals match to Villanova.
