NEWARK, Del -- The University of Delaware volleyball team dropped a three-set match to James Madison on Saturday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.

The Dukes captured the contest by set scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-14 to improve to 18-4 overall and 9-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Blue Hens fell to 5-19 overall and 3-11 in league action.

Maria Bellinger led Delaware with team-highs of seven kills and eight digs, while Abby Skryd also posted eight digs to go with 14 assists. Courtnie Roberts tied her career-high for the second straight match with six kills, while adding 12 assists on the night.

Daria Robinson also slammed six kills for the Blue Hens, while Kori Rasmussen contributed six digs.

Briley Brind’Amour led James Madison with 13 kills, while Taylor Austin had 16 digs and M’Kaela White made seven blocks.

The first set was very competitive, featuring 11 ties and five lead changes. Delaware clawed within a point at 24-23, but JMU’s Liv Crawley responded with a kill to give the Dukes the opening stanza. JMU then dominated the final two sets to secure the victory.
