NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men’s swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day in style Sunday afternoon, as the Blue Hens men defeated Iona College 196-93 at Rawstrom Natatorium.

Delaware (2-7) cruised to victory over the Gales (6-2), posting victories in all 15 events.

During an intermission the Blue Hens honored seniors Jacob Dickens, Brad Donohue, Chris Dryden, Justin Mitchell and Patrick Savidge for their contributions to the swimming program and the entire UD community.  

Reigning Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week Kevin Basch continued his strong season as the sophomore finished first in both the 500 freestyle (4:38.97) and 200 back (1:55.35) events while fellow CAA honoree Jacob Lukens (Below) finished first on both the 1M (255.20) and 3M (266.40) boards.  

Other highlights included junior Ryan Daniel winning both the 200 fly (1:57.58) and the 200 breast (2:12.14), Savidge winning the 100 back (51.93) and the 100 free (47.20) and junior Chris Cornell winning the 100 breaststroke (59.44).

Delaware concludes the regular season Saturday, January 20 for a 10 a.m. meet at Towson.
