AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Delaware softball team concluded action at the Tiger Invitational by falling to Maryland, 4-1, and Georgia State, 14-2, Saturday at Auburn’s Jane B. Moore Field.

In the Blue Hens’ opener, Maryland (4-1) took the early lead when Skylynne Ellazer belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. The Terrapins then scored a pair of runs in the third inning, aided by three UD errors, to extend the margin to four.

Delaware senior Mariah Kondravy put the Blue Hens on the board when she blasted a solo home run in the top of the fourth, but that would conclude the scoring.

Anna Steinmetz added a double and Chayanna Gallardo delivered a single for the Blue Hens (0-4), while Jordan Cargile allowed four runs in six innings in the circle.

Georgia State (5-4) then scored two runs in the top of the first inning, before putting the game away with nine in the second. Giovanna Kolofer and Mattie Nuccio ripped RBI singles in the bottom of the third to account for Delaware’s two runs, before the Panthers added three runs in the fifth to conclude the scoring.

Kolofer and Nuccio each had two hits during the game, while Kondravy, Steinmetz and Ali Davis added one each.

• Kondravy moved into third place in Blue Hen history with 187 career hits
• Delaware committed 11 errors on the day
• The Blue Hens are now 3-13 all-time vs. Maryland and 7-19 vs. Georgia State
