PEORIA, Ariz. – Blue Hen sophomore Ariane Klotz is tied for 18th place at two under par as the University of Delaware women’s golf team opened its 2018 spring season on Sunday at the Westbrook Invitational.

Klotz sits at two under par after carding a 72-70-142 on the par 72, 6,252-yard Vistas Course at Westbrook Village Golf Club. She posted five birdies during her opening round, while adding four more against just one bogey in the second round of the day.

UD freshman Thitaree Sakulbunpanich is tied for 44th place with a one over par 74-71-145, while junior Ashley Dingman is tied for 54th place with a three over par 73-74-147.

Junior Valentina Mueller fired a five over par 73-76-149 to end the day tied for 62nd place, while sophomore Josefina Fernandez-Davila sits in 86th place with a 23 over par 81-86-167.

Playing against top competition, the Blue Hens are 15th in the team standings despite posting impressive rounds of 292 and 291 to end the day with a 583 total. Nebraska leads the 15-team field with a 556 score, while Oklahoma is second at 558 and Ohio State is third at 559.

The tournament concludes on Monday with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. Mountain time.
