RICHMOND, Va.   --   For the third time in her career and for the second time this season, University of Delaware standout senior cross country runner Lindsay Prettyman has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced.

In addition to the league honors, Prettyman was also named winner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Eastern Co-Women’s Runner of the Week. She shared the award with Rosa Moriello of Boston University.

Prettyman, an honor student in exercise science from Newark, Del. (St. Mark’s High School), was honored for her performance at the UD Blue-Gold Invitational this past Saturday morning at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark. Northeastern runner Wesley Gallagher was selected as the CAA Male Runner of the Week.

Prettyman captured her third career cross country individual title Saturday as she ran the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:29.51 - a full second seconds ahead of her nearest competitor - to lead Delaware to the team championship in the eight-team field.

Prettyman, who has been a force for the Blue Hens all year and throughout her career at Delaware, has now led the team in all five meets this season and in 16 straight competitions over three years.  

She also was named the CAA Runner of the Week on Sept. 1 of this year and on Sept. 4, 2012.

Delaware will take the next two weeks off in order to prepare for the annual Colonial Athletic Association Championships, which will be held Nov. 2 at Oregon Ridge Park in Cockeysville, Md. Towson University will serve as host of the meet.
