NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women’s cross country and track & field head coach Wendy McFarlane and her staff are hosting their annual UD Indoor Track & Field Youth Clinic on Sunday, Jan. 13 at the Delaware Field House.
The event will be held from 2-4 p.m. and is open to youths of all ages. The cost is $25 per participant for those who pre-register and $30 for those who register on the day of the event. Checks should be made payable to the University of Delaware. The event will be held at Delaware Field House located on the UD Athletics Complex at 621 South College Avenue in Newark. Check-in will begin at 1 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the sprints, distance running, jumps, and rotational shot put and discus followed by active participation which include various skills, drills, and techniques.
In addition to instruction, each participant will receive a free clinic t-shirt.
McFarlane, now in her fifth season at the helm of the Blue Hens, will coordinate instruction in the sprints and hurdles and will be joined by staff members Joe Catania (distance running), Larry Pratt (shot put and discus), Chris Watson (pole vault), and Terence Gadson (long jump). Members of the UD women’s track & field team will also assist at the clinic.
