NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women’s golf incoming freshman Rachel Lee recently qualified for the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, continuing her impressive play this spring.

Lee carded a 74 at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va. on May 29, finishing in second place while qualifying for the prestigious championship. She will participate in the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship on July 14-19 on the par 71, 7,365-yard Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kan.

Previously, Lee won the College Prep Series Event on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s stop in College Park, Md. on May 10-11. She carded a six over par 71-77-148 on the par 71 course at the University of Maryland Golf Club.

Lee, a native of Woodstock, Md., also won the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour’s Pennsylvania Classic at Heritage Hills Resort in York, Pa. Competing in the Bell Division, Lee fired a 75-79-154 to capture the event, which was held May 3-4.
