PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team returned from its month-long absence with a bang, as the Blue Hens recorded a 302 team score to end Monday’s action tied for first place at the Rutgers Invitational.

Four Blue Hens finished the day among the top eight in the individual standings, as Delaware posted its lowest team total of the season. UD and Seton Hall are pacing the 20-team field at 302, while Bucknell sits in third place with a 309 score. St. John’s and Fairleigh Dickinson are each tied for fourth place at 311.

Blue Hen freshman Grace Chua carded a two over par 74 on the par 72, 6,034-yard Rutgers University Golf Course to end the day tied for third place, just one shot off the lead. Bridget Wilcox of Bucknell and Erin McClure of Seton Hall each fired a one over par 73 to conclude Monday’s action tied for first place.

UD junior Amanda Terzian, freshman Vitoria Teixeira, and sophomore Nathalie Filler each posted four over par 76 rounds, ending the day tied for eighth place in the standings. Junior Baralee Theinthong carded a five over par 77 and will enter Tuesday’s final round tied for 15th place.

Playing as individuals, Blue Hen junior Andi Slane is tied for 20th place after carding a six over par 78 while sophomore Vimonthip Benjasupawan is tied for 39th place after her nine over par 81.
