RICHMOND, Va. -- Blue Hen freshman Grace Chua was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following her impressive performance over the weekend at the first annual University of Delaware Fall Invitational.

Chua (White Rock, British Columbia/Semiahmoo Secondary School) carded a nine over par 75-76-71-222 on the par 71, 5,978-yard Rehoboth Beach Country Club course, finishing in second place in the individual standings after losing a one-hole playoff to medalist Sophia Chen of Penn.

Chua’s final round of 71 was the lowest of her Blue Hen career, as she posted her fourth top 10 finish during the five tournaments this fall.

Chua helped lead Delaware to the team championship at the invitational, its third title of the fall campaign. The Blue Hens also captured the Tignanelli Towson Invitational on Sept. 8-9 and the Rutgers Invitational on Oct. 14-15.

Chua competed in all five tournaments for the Blue Hens during her rookie fall season, leading the team with a 75.54 average round. Her CAA Golfer of the Week honor was the first of her career.
