NEWARK, Del. -- Registration is now available for two sessions of the Blue Hen Golf Camp that will take place this summer at nearby Deerfield Golf Club.

The camp will be run by University of Delaware women’s golf head coach Patty Post and Blue Hen assistant coach Victoria Stefansen. The first session will occur from June 16-19, 2013, with the second session taking place on August 11-14, 2013. The camp is open for boys and girls ages 10-18 and costs $275 per participant.

Following arrival and check in on Sunday, a nine-hole playing assessment, as well as video and short game assessment, will begin at 1 p.m. The Monday morning session will feature skill instruction groups, while the afternoon will feature a nine-hole team scramble competition as well as a putting contest. Skill instruction groups will again take place on Tuesday morning, before a nine-hole team best ball competition and a chipping contest during the afternoon.

Wednesday’s final day will feature an 18-hole competition beginning at 9 a.m., with lunch and awards to follow at 1:30 p.m.

Post is currently in her second year at the helm of the Delaware women’s golf program, and she led the Blue Hens to three top 10 finishes this fall. Her playing resume includes runner-up finishes at the Maryland Women’s Open from 2003-05, the Middle Atlantic PGA Women’s Player of the Year in 2002, ‘05, ‘06, and ‘07, and the LPGA Northeast Section Teaching and Club Professional Player of the Year in 2007. She was only the second female to qualify for the PGA National Club Professional Championship, qualified for the 2007 LPGA Sybase Championship, and played in the 2007 LPGA Championship at Bulle Rock Golf Club in Havre de Grace, Md.

Stefansen is also currently in her second year in Newark, after an outstanding playing career at Iowa State University. She was a four-year letterwinner with the Cyclones, and earned Texas State Invitational medalist honors during her sophomore season.

Under the direction of Post and Stefansen, the Blue Hen Golf Camp aims to provide each camper with outstanding instruction. The camp includes a staff assembled from some of the top collegiate and high school coaches, as well as some of the top collegiate athletes and located at one of the area’s finest golf facilities.
