Tournament Results

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- The University of Delaware women’s golf team fired a 308 score during Sunday’s final round of the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational to finish the tournament in fifth place out of nine squads.

The Blue Hens, who carded rounds of 299 and 315 on Saturday, finished with a 922 three-round total. Penn State easily captured the title with an 885 score, while Columbia finished in second place at 907. Rutgers and Richmond tied for third at 912, followed by Delaware.

UD sophomore Valentina Mueller recorded an even par 72 during her final round on the par 72, 6,306-yard PSU Blue Course, as she finished in a tie for 12th place with an 11 over par 73-82-72-227. Ariane Klotz finished in 19th place with a 14 over par 74-78-78-230, while Vitoria Teixeira carded a 17 over par 75-79-79-233 during the weekend to tie for 29th place.

Grace Chua tied for 35th place with her 21 over par 82-76-79-237, while Josefina Fernandez-Davila tied for 50th place with her 30 over par score of 77-84-85-246.

Five other Blue Hens competed in the tournament as individuals, led by Ashley Dingman who tied for 23rd place with a 16 over par 79-78-75-232. Isabella Rimton fired a 27 over par 76-84-83-243 to finish 47th, while Kylie Greulich placed 58th with her 42 over par score of 85-87-86-258. Marie Bogenez finished 59th with a 44 over par 90-86-84-260, while Aashaka Desai carded a 45 over par 86-93-82-261 to place 60th.

Isabella Rusher of Richmond earned medalist honors with an even par 70-74-72-216, while Ashleigh Greenham of Rutgers finished one shot back.

The Blue Hens return to action on Oct. 1-2 when they compete in the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Course.
