HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo -- The University of Delaware women’s golf squad fired its lowest team round of the year on Sunday as the Blue Hens finished in 11th place at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate.

Delaware carded a 294 score during Sunday’s final round, placing 11th out of 18 teams with a three-round total of 890. That total is the lowest three-round score in Blue Hen history, besting the previous mark of 894 set at the 2015 River Landing Classic.

Pepperdine claimed the team title with an 854 score, while tournament host Denver finished in second place with an 858 total.

Blue Hen freshman Ariane Klotz fired an ever par 72 during her final round on the par 72, 6,426-yard Highlands Ranch Golf Club course, finishing in a tie for 23rd place with a three over par 74-73-72-219. Senior Grace Chua carded her second consecutive even par 72, as she tied for 27th place with her four over par score of 76-72-72-220.

UD sophomore Valentina Mueller shot a two over par 74 on Sunday, tying for 55th place at 73-79-74-226, 10 over par. Senior Vitoria Teixeira fired a four over par 76 during her final round, as she finished in a tie for 65th place with a 13 over par 72-81-76-229. Sophomore Ashley Dingman tied for 84th place at the invitational with an 18 over par score of 78-77-79-234.

Sophie Newlove of Denver was the tournament medalist with a six under par score of 69-71-70-210, while Hira Naveed of Pepperdine finished two shots back.

The Blue Hens close out their fall season on Oct. 22-23 when they host the Delaware Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
