WILMINGTON, Del. -- New University of Delaware head football coach Dave Brock and nearly 30 members of the Blue Hen football team and staff took time out last Saturday, Jan. 19, to assist at the Sunday Breakfast Mission located on Poplar Street.
While at the facility, team members prepared a meal and served the homeless. Other team members assisted in cleaning a recreation room in the women's shelter located nearby.
A group of 25-30 players will again assist at the Sunday Breakfast Mission this coming Saturday, Jan. 26.
Each night the Sunday Breakfast Mission houses up to 130 homeless men who otherwise would be living on the streets throughout the region from Philadelphia to Salisbury. A community meal is served each night to nearly 200 hungry and homeless men.
