RICHMOND, Va. – After being the only member of the University of Delaware swimming and diving program who qualified for two events at the 2013 AT&T Winter National Championships, junior Tim Ware earns the first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) weekly honor of his career as a Blue Hen.

Ware represented Delaware in both the 100 and 200 backstroke events at the Winter National Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of University of Tennessee.

In the 100 backstroke, Ware finished in 50.78 to earn a 50th place finish. Ware’s time of 1:51.06 in the 200 backstroke earned him a 41st place finish. Each of Ware’s finishes set season personal-best times for the junior. His 100 backstroke time is the best by any Blue Hen so far this season.

Both the Delaware men and women swimming and diving teams will take over a month off from competition before returning to action on Jan. 11. The Blue Hen men will host Drexel while the Delaware women host Drexel and Northeastern in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action at Rawstrom Natatorium beginning at 1 p.m.
