Kyle Martin Leads Delaware Menís Golfers To 13th Place Finish After First Day of Navy Spring Invitational
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Blue Hen sophomore Kyle Martin is tied for 14th place in the individual standings while the University of Delaware men’s golf team sits 13th in the team standings on Friday following the first day of the Navy Spring Invitational.
The Blue Hens carded a 309 team scoring during Friday’s opening round, finishing the day in 13th place out of 18 squads. St. Francis (Pa.) and Towson are tied for the lead with 296 scores while Navy is third at 301, Saint Joseph’s sits in fourth place at 302, and Cornell rounds out the top five at 303.
Martin fired a three over par 37-37-74 on the par 71, 6,528-yard USNA Golf Course, ending the day tied for 14th place in the individual standings. Junior Niño Rosal is tied for 17th place after he carded a 36-39-75, four over par.
UD senior Dan Costenbader, who recorded a 40-40-80, and freshman Joe Visalli, who carded a 41-39-80, are each tied for 60th place at nine over par. Freshman Marc Oliveri shot a 14 over par 39-46-85 to end his day tied for 86th place.
TJ McNulty of Saint Joseph’s holds a three-shot lead after firing a four under par 33-34-67 during Friday’s round.
The second and final round of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
