BLACKSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware men’s tennis team wrapped up its trip to the 2013 USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional Sunday following losses from seniors Troy Beneck (Wilmington, Del.) and Adam Lawton (Estepona, Spain) in singles action.

After starting the weekend with two wins, Beneck lost to JC Aragone (Virginia), 6-4, 6-1.

Virginia Tech’s Andreas Bjerrehus, playing on his home surface, ended Lawton’s run with a 6-3, 6-3 win over the Blue Hen.

This weekend’s USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional completes the fall slate for Delaware tennis.

     §   Troy Beneck snapped  a career-best five-match winning streak.
     §   Troy Beneck is 12-4 in singles action this season and 64-33 in his four seasons at Delaware.  This career mark is good for third in UD history.  Chris Hincker (2007-11) is second with a career record of 69-33.
     §   Adam Lawton broke a three-match winning streak and is 9-6 this season and 53-18 all-time at Delaware, a mark good for seventh in UD history.  Sam Barrer (2006-10) is sixth all-time with a record of 56-38.
     §   Fall schedule complete.
     §   Spring schedule begins Saturday, Feb. 22 vs. Quinnipiac at Elkton Indoor Courts.
