RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware seniors Troy Beneck and Adam Lawton were selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The duo extended their winning streak to five straight matches after outlasting William & Mary’s Aaron Chaffee and Will Juggins, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles during Saturday’s match with the Tribe. Beneck and Lawton improved to 20-5 on the season, becoming the first doubles team in UD history to reach the 20-win mark and doing it for the second consecutive season.

The pair are now 62-21 during their career, the school record for doubles victories.

Additionally, Beneck (Wilmington, Del.) is 21-6 in singles this season, and is the Blue Hens’ record holder with 73 career singles victories. Lawton (Estepona, Spain) ranks second on the team with 17 singles wins this year, and has won 61 matches during his career.

The award is the second of the season for Beneck and Lawton, who were also honored as the CAA Doubles Team of the Week on March 18.

Delaware, which is 4-7 overall and 0-2 in the league, returns to action on Wednesday with a 2 p.m. league match at James Madison.
