WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware women’s tennis team took another step towards a Colonial Athletic Association title Friday afternoon as the Blue Hens defeated Drexel, 4-0, in the CAA Tournament Quarterfinals at Mille West Tennis Facility on the campus of William & Mary.

The fourth-seeded Hens (12-5) advance to Saturday’s semifinal match against the first-seeded and host Tribe (15-5), which is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m.

Delaware started the day off right, taking two doubles wins to earn the team point going into singles play.

Nataliya Naumova (at top right) and Christina Harrington picked up the first win for UD with an 8-2 victory against Nicole Pivonka and Emma Brook in No. 2 singles.

The Hens clinched the point in No. 3 doubles as Danea Jonjic’ and Kim Milla teamed up for an 8-2 win over Alex Bell and Ash Orhon.  The duo improved to 7-2 on the year.

Naumova continued the winning ways into singles action as she defeated Marcela Rosales 6-0, 6-2 in No. 3 singles.  The freshman moved to 17-13 for her career while remaining undefeated in the third flight with a 5-0 record.

Olivia Heim gave the Hens a 3-0 advantage over the fifth-seeded Dragons with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 No. 4 singles victory against Brook.  With the win, the junior ties teammate Dorothy Safron with 47 career victories.

Milla wrapped up the sweep for Delaware in No. 6 singles as the sophomore finished the day with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Orhon.
