NEWARK, Del. – A crowd of about 100 well-wishers, including YoUDee and the UD cheerleading team, were on hand Wednesday afternoon at the new addition to the Bob Carpenter Center to cheer on the University of Delaware volleyball team as the Hens headed to Penn State to compete in the NCAA Tournament.

The Blue Hens (20-12), champions of the Colonial Athletic Association, will take on Patriot League champion American University in a first round game on Friday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. at Penn State University's Rec Hall.

Delaware is making its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the last five years. Should the Blue Hens knock off American, they would take on the winner of the Penn State vs. Liberty Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Penn State is the four-time defending national champion and is the tournament's No. 9 seed.
