NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware volleyball team won all four of its matches on Saturday as the Blue Hens hosted the Delaware Spring Tournament in the Bob Carpenter Center Addition.

Delaware, which did not drop a set during the day, opened play with a 25-21, 25-18 victory over Princeton. The Blue Hens then edged CAA rival Towson 25-22, 26-24, before a narrow 26-24, 26-24 triumph over Rutgers. Delaware closed out its successful day with a 25-6, 25-22 win over the UD Alumni team.

Eleven former UD players comprised the alumni squad, as the alums joined the current Blue Hen players and coaching staff for a reception following Saturday’s action.

The Delaware volleyball program will be hosting the 2014 Spring Fling this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on South Campus near Delaware Stadium. The grass tournament serves to bring attention to the UD volleyball program and sponsors by bringing the Newark and volleyball communities together for an action-packed day of fun in the sun. The tournament is open to all-ages, and consists of co-ed teams of four.
