HARRISONBURG, Va. – Severe weather throughout the area Wednesday afternoon forced the postponement of the University of Delaware’s first round contest against James Madison University at the 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Championships.

Game 2 of the championships between the No. 3 seed Blue Hens and No. 6 seed Dukes will resume at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 23.  With two outs in the top of the fourth inning, UD trails James Madison by a score of 4-2.  The loser of that game will return at 11 a.m. to face #5 Northeastern in an elimination contest.

Northeastern dropped a 9-8 decision to No. 4 seed Towson in the tournament opener Wednesday.

At 2:30 p.m., top-seeded UNCW meets Towson in the winners’ bracket. No. 2 seed William & Mary faces the winner of the Delaware/James Madison contest at 6 p.m.

Game 6 of the championship, which features the winner of Game 3 and the lowest-seeded loser of Games 4 and 5, is tentatively set for 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
