University of Delaware Baseball Announces Move of Early Season Home Games to Harford (Md.) Community College

NEWARK, Del. --  Due to the severe winter weather that has delayed renovations to Bob Hannah Stadium, the University of Delaware announced Monday that the Blue Hen baseball team’s first seven home games will be played off-campus.

Six of the seven games, beginning with the home opener this Friday, Feb. 28 vs. Fordham, will be played at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Md., located 35 minutes south of the UD campus. The stadium address is 401 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air. Admission and parking is free.

Delaware’s home game vs. in-state opponent Delaware State set for Wednesday, March 5, will now be played in Dover.

Delaware (3-4) will open the home schedule with a single game Friday, Feb. 28, at Harford County CC vs. Fordham at 11 a.m. (time changed from 2:30 p.m.) followed by single games vs. the Rams on Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, March 2 at 1 pm.

The following weekend, Delaware will host Rider for a three-game weekend set at Harford. The Hens will take on the Broncs Friday, March 7 at 2:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 8 at 4 p.m.; and Sunday, March 9 at 1 p.m.
