NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware baseball team looks to snap a two-game losing streak as it opens the Liberty Bell Classic against Temple Tuesday afternoon.

LHP Kevin Milley is scheduled to take the mound for the Blue Hens. The freshman will be making his second start in a Delaware uniform. The lefty is 0-1 with a 3.75 ERA and six strikeouts in six total appearances this season.

The Blue Hens are led offensively by right fielder Norm Donkin. The junior leads the team in batting average (.367), runs (17), hits (33), doubles (9) and stolen bases (8).

Senior captain Alex Mottle has a team-leading four home runs and 18 RBI while boasting a .340 average. Mottle was one of the few bright spots in Delaware’s two losses to William & Mary last weekend. In the two games, Mottle had four hits, scored two runs and had three RBI.

At this time, Temple (7-13) has not announced their starting pitcher for the game. The Owls’ pitching staff has a total ERA of 5.65.

Senior Derek Peterson is the only Temple batter with an average over .300 (.303). Peterson also leads the team with 16 runs, 23 hits and 13 doubles. The outfielder is coming off of a two RBI performance in Temple’s last game against Central Florida on Sunday.

Redshirt senior Robert Amaro is second on the team in hits with 19 and leads the Owls with two home runs and 20 RBI on the season.

Tuesday’s matchup will be the 108th meeting between the Owls and Blue Hens with Delaware holding a 57-50 advantage. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Skip Wilson Field in Ambler, Pa.
