NEWARK, Del. -- Former University of Delaware men’s basketball forward Jamelle Hagins has signed with Chorale de Roanne of the France ProA League.
Chorale de Roanne finished in fifth place out of 16 teams last season in the ProA League, the highest league in France.
Hagins was named the Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year during his senior year at Delaware, while he also earned second team NABC All-District 10 and second team All-CAA honors.
Hagins started all 33 games for UD in 2012-13, leading the Blue Hens with 10.7 rebounds while ranking third with 11.6 points per game. He ranked second in the CAA and seventh in the nation with 10.7 rebounds, led the conference with 2.4 blocks, and was also second in the league with a 54.6 field goal percentage and 7.6 defensive rebounds.
Hagins finished his Blue Hen career as UD’s career leader with 1,078 rebounds, 292 blocks, and 124 games played. He ranks third in conference history in blocks and fourth in rebounds, while his 36 double-doubles are third most at Delaware. Hagins posted 16 double-doubles during his senior season, while his 1,184 career points rank 19th in Blue Hen history.
Following his collegiate career Hagins participated in the Portsmouth Invitational this April, before playing with the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat during the NBA Summer Leagues.
